In the notebooks of Peter and Nick, two numbers are written. Initially, these two numbers are 1 and 2 for Peter and 3 and 4 for Nick. Once a minute, Peter writes a quadratic trinomial $f(x)$, the roots of which are the two numbers in his notebook, while Nick writes a quadratic trinomial $g(x)$ the roots of which are the numbers in his notebook. If the equation $f(x)=g(x)$ has two distinct roots, one of the two boys replaces the numbers in his notebook by those two roots. Otherwise, nothing happens. If Peter once made one of his numbers 5, what did the other one of his numbers become?

We call a permutation $ \left(a_1, a_2, ..., a_n\right)$ of $ \left(1, 2, ..., n\right)$ quadratic if there exists at least a perfect square among the numbers $ a_1$, $ a_1 \plus{} a_2$, $ ...$, $ a_1 \plus{} a_2 \plus{} ... \plus{} a_n$. Find all natural numbers $ n$ such that all permutations in $ S_n$ are quadratic. Remark. $ S_{n}$ denotes the $ n$-th symmetric group, the group of permutations on $ n$ elements.
Let $x_i,$ $1 \leq i \leq n$ be real numbers with $n \geq 3.$ Let $p$ and $q$ be their symmetric sum of degree $1$ and $2$ respectively. Prove that: i) $p^2 \cdot \frac{n-1}{n}-2q \geq 0$ ii) $\left|x_i - \frac{p}{n}\right| \leq \sqrt{p^2 - \frac{2nq}{n-1}} \cdot \frac{n-1}{n}$ for every meaningful $i$.

Determine a subset $ A\subset \mathbb{N}^*$ having $ 5$ different elements, so that the sum of the squares of its elements equals their product. Do not simply post the subset, show how you found it.
Let $z$ be a complex number with $|z| = 2014$. Let $P$ be the polygon in the complex plane whose vertices are $z$ and every $w$ such that $\tfrac{1}{z+w} = \tfrac{1}{z} + \tfrac{1}{w}$. Find all prime numbers $p$ and $q$ such that $2^2+p^2+q^2$ is also prime. Please remember to hide your solution. (by using the hide tags of course.. I don't literally mean that you should hide it :ninja: )
Decompose the space of homogeneous polynomials of degree $5$ in $(x, y, z)$ into irreducible subspaces invariant with respect to the rotation group $SO(3)$.

In the Cartesian plane, let $G_1$ and $G_2$ be the graphs of the quadratic functions $f_1(x) = p_1x^2 + q_1x + r_1$ and $f_2(x) = p_2x^2 + q_2x + r_2$, where $p_1 > 0 > p_2$. The graphs $G_1$ and $G_2$ cross at distinct points $A$ and $B$. The four tangents to $G_1$ and $G_2$ at $A$ and $B$ form a convex quadrilateral which has an inscribed circle.
